The Concordia Stingers are pleased to announce the appointment of Mario D'Otolo as head coach of the men's soccer program.
D'Otolo takes over after serving as an assistant coach with the Stingers for the past two seasons, bringing with him more than 15 years of coaching experience at the youth elite and semi-professional levels.
His appointment marks a full-circle moment, as D'Otolo once wore the maroon and gold himself. A midfielder, he played two seasons with the Stingers beginning in 2007 before embarking on a coaching career that has spanned more than 15 years.
D'Otolo holds both a CONCACAF A Licence and a UEFA coaching licence, reflecting his commitment to coaching development at the highest levels of the sport.
In addition to his role with the Stingers, D'Otolo currently serves as Director of Football and Technical Director at Dollard Soccer Club, where he oversees player development and coaching standards across the organization. Throughout his coaching career, he has worked with athletes at every stage of development, from youth elite programs to the semi-professional ranks.
"I'm happy and honoured to be named the new head coach of Concordia men's soccer," said D'Otolo. "This is a very special moment for me. Coaching at the university level has always been one of my goals, and to have the opportunity to do it at the very place where I once played soccer makes it even more meaningful.
"Years ago, I had the privilege of wearing the Concordia jersey as a student-athlete. Today, I have the honour of leading that very program.
"I'm excited for the challenge ahead and committed to building a culture of excellence, hard work, accountability, and pride. My goal is to help bring this program back to where it belongs while developing not only better soccer players, but better people."
Having spent the past two seasons on the Stingers' coaching staff, D'Otolo brings continuity to the program along with a deep understanding of Concordia's culture and student-athlete experience. His combination of collegiate playing experience, extensive coaching background, and technical expertise positions him to lead the program into its next chapter as the Stingers prepare for the upcoming RSEQ season.
Men's soccer opens the 2026 season at home at 1 p.m. on Sept. 6 vs. Laval.
