Men's soccer on a three-game winning streak

Stingers’ men’s soccer is ranked second in the RSEQ with a 3-1 record and nine points.

The Stingers beat the Laval Rouge et Or 3-0 at home on Sept. 6, with goals scored by midfielders Olivier Roy and Zeid AbuShaar, defender Amadou Alioune Diop also added a goal. Midfielder Obeng Tabi Amponsah had two assists and goalkeeper Jordy Kerlegrand made 13 saves, logging his first shutout of the season.

Forward Michael Valentino Santella scored the lone goal against the Montréal Carabins on Sept. 13 and secured the 1-0 victory, while Kerlegrand made six saves. Tabi Amponsah had another assist, bringing his season total to three.

The win streak continued in Sherbrooke as the Stingers defeated the Vert & Or 1-0 with Olivier Roy scoring his second goal of the season and goalkeeper Tony Awad making seven saves and securing his first shutout.

The Stingers haven’t allowed a goal against in their last three games, and only have one goal against so far this season. They've allowed the least amount of goals so far in the RSEQ.

Men’s soccer will head to Quebec City to play the Rouge et Or on Sept. 20 before coming back home to face the UQAM Citadins on Sunday, Sept. 22, to kick off our soccer doubleheader at 1 p.m.
