Vanier captain commits to Stinger men's soccer program

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce Michael Polisena, the captain of the Vanier Cheetahs men’s soccer team, has committed to the Concordia Stingers.

The talented mid-fielder was the team captain in 2017 and 2018. In April of 2018 he received a major award at Vanier’s annual athletic banquet, the Cheetah Leadership Award in recognition of his commitment and character as well as personal integrity. He was also the recipient of the 2017 Cheetah Pride Award for men’s soccer.

“Michael shows a maturity beyond his years,” said Sutton. “He’s been a leader and cornerstone for a number of teams in his soccer career. We’re excited to have him join our program and express his dedication and leadership at the university level.”

Polisena will join the Stingers in the winter of 2019 and plans to pursue studies in Business Technology Management.

“Concordia has a great group of guys and I see myself fitting in well,” he said. “I like the vibe, the atmosphere and the quality of play. Also, I feel the John Molson School of Business is the best program for me.”

In addition to his Vanier commitments, the Vaudreuil, Que. resident played U21 AAA and Senior soccer with Pointe Claire.
