Stingers add dynamic midfielder to recruiting class

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce midfielder Nicolas Baez Guerra from Dawson College has committed to the Concordia Stingers men's soccer program.

“We’ve watched and kept track of Nicolas’s career for three years,” said Sutton. “We believe he can be a top player on our team and a top player in our league. He will bring a dynamic mindset to our attack. We hope he will be able to step in his first year and contribute to our success right away.”

The Westmount, Que. resident spent three seasons with the Dawson Blues, including their successful bronze medal RSEQ campaign in 2018. At the club level, he enjoyed success with the Monteuil reserve team, winning a Premiere Ligue de soccer du Québec (PLSQ) championship in 2019. He has also played Senior AAA soccer with Les Étoiles de l’Est.

Baez will study Economics at Concordia and join the team at training camp in August.

“I like both the academic and soccer programs at Concordia,” said Baez on his decision to pursue his career with the Stingers. “I like the professionalism, infrastructure and facilities for the soccer team.”
