Game On - the Stingers are back in action this week

The Department of Recreation and Athletics is excited to announce that its Concordia Stingers teams will resume playing varsity games this week.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced a shutdown of all sports activities in the province on Dec. 20, 2021. Last Tuesday, the Quebec government announced a return to games and competitions will be permitted, beginning today.

The men’s hockey team, which competes in the OUA conference, will be the first to see action. The Stingers will cross the city to challenge their long-standing rivals, the McGill Redbirds, tomorrow at 7 p.m. They will start with four road games before returning home to host the Ottawa Gee-Gees Feb. 26 at 5 p.m.

In RSEQ action, the basketball teams will play a home-and-away series with the Laval Rouge et Or this week. The Stingers will travel to Quebec City on Thursday and host on Saturday. The home games will be streamed beginning at 2 p.m. No tickets will be sold.

The women’s hockey team will resume play with a home game versus the Montréal Carabins on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Tickets for Saturday's hockey game are now on sale.
