The Concordia Stingers men’s hockey team stayed hot over the weekend, picking up two more road wins to extend their winning streak to nine games.
The run continued Thursday night in Oshawa, where the Stingers earned a 3–1 victory over Ontario Tech. Jacob Lafontaine opened the scoring, while Simon Lavigne and Julien Anctil added goals to secure the win. Goaltender Nikolas Hurtubise was steady in net, stopping 22 shots.
Concordia followed that effort with another strong performance Friday night in Kingston, blanking Queen’s 2–0. Hugo Primeau and Simon Lavigne provided the offence, while Hurtubise was once again sharp, turning aside all 14 shots he faced to record the shutout.
With the two victories, the Stingers remain second in the OUA East standings and continue to hold the No. 1 spot in the U SPORTS national rankings.
Concordia now returns home for back-to-back games, beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. against Carleton, followed by Friday’s matchup versus McGill in the 38th edition of the Corey Cup, also at 7 p.m.
