The Concordia Stingers men's hockey team was well represented in the OUA East Division awards this season, highlighted by a historic campaign from captain Simon Lavigne.
Lavigne was named OUA East Player of the Year, Defenceman of the Year and a First Team OUA East All-Star after an outstanding season on the blue line. The veteran defender recorded 23 points, scoring 10 goals and adding 13 assists — the third-highest point total on the team. He also scored three game-winning goals during the season, including a memorable overtime winner against the McGill Redbirds in the annual Corey Cup in front of a packed crowd at Ed Meagher Arena.
The honours add to an already impressive résumé for Lavigne, who was named a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian in the 2024–25 season and was also recognized as Concordia’s Men’s Athlete of the Year.
Forward Mathieu Bizier was named the OUA East nominee for the Randy Gregg Award, which recognizes student-athletes for excellence in hockey, academics and community involvement. Bizier led the Stingers with 11 goals this season and finished second on the team with 28 points. A two-time Academic All-Canadian studying athletic therapy, Bizier also made an impact off the ice by organizing a successful blood drive at the Concordia University Loyola campus in January 2026. He was previously named an OUA East Second Team All-Star in the 2024–25 season.
Nicholas Girouard also earned conference recognition, being named a Second Team OUA East All-Star after leading the Stingers in scoring with 29 points on nine goals and 20 assists. The fourth-year Human Relations major has been a steady contributor and leader for Concordia and earns his first career selection to an OUA All-Star team.
