Roxanne Galarneau of the women's rugby team and Stan Blazkowski of the men's rugby team have been named the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 2, 2022.
Galarneau, a second-year forward, was a strong contributor in Concordia’s 41-19 victory over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or on the road last Friday night. She scored two tries and had a dominant performance on defence, leading the team in effort and energy for the whole 80 minutes.
A 28-year-old originally from Mirabel, Que., Galarneau is studying Actuarial Math at Concordia
Blazkowski, a third-year fly half, was instrumental in helping the Stingers dominate the Vert & Or 72-0 win in Sherbrooke last Friday night. He collected two tries in the game. He is Concordia’s leading scorer this season with 17 points in three games.
The 23-year-old student-athlete from the Marseille, France is studying International Business in the prestigious John Molson School of Business.
