Stingers men’s hockey have won their first three games of 2024, extending their winning streak to five games now.
The Stingers’ 15-5-2 record has them ranked third in the OUA East, only one point behind the first and second-ranked UQTR Patriotes and Ottawa Gee-Gees.
The Stingers still have seven games to secure their playoff spot, and their menacing offence will continue being a weapon for them for the rest of the season. They are currently first in shots in the division, averaging 44 shots per game, and second in goals (four goals per game on average).
Team leaders:
Forward Mathieu Bizier and captain Phélix Martineau currently lead the Stingers with 23 points each.
Isiah Campbell, Tyler Hylland and Nicholas Girouard each have 8 goals on the season.
Samuel Desgroseillers is first among defencemen with seven goals and 11 points for a total of 18 points.
Loïck Daigle leads the rookies with seven points (four goals, three assists).
Stingers’ games have been split evenly between the two goaltenders: veteran Jordan Naylor and rookie Nikolas Hurtubise, who have both been doing a great job of keeping pucks out of the net. Naylor has also earned a shutout so far this season.
