Stingers top Carleton 4-2 to close first half of season

The Concordia Stingers men’s hockey team wrapped up the first half of the season on a strong note, defeating the Carleton Ravens 4–2 to cap off a 5–3 month of November.

Jacob Lafontaine opened the scoring, followed by goals from Alexandre Nadeau, Alex Gaudio and Simon Lavigne. Goaltender Joe Vrbetic earned the start and picked up the win.

At the holiday break, the Stingers sit at 8–8 and hold the No. 8 spot in the U SPORTS national rankings.

Offensively, Nicholas Girouard leads the team with 17 points, including 7 goals and 10 assists. Mathieu Bizier, Sean Larochelle and Simon Lavigne are close behind, each collecting 12 points so far this season.

The Stingers return to action on Jan. 10 when they host RMC at the Ed Meagher Arena.
