Funeral arrangements for Ricky Zieba

OBITUARY Concordia Stinger linebacker RICKY R. ZIEBA  - May 31, 1987 - June 24, 2009.

In the prime of his life, Ricky fell asleep at the wheel while driving home late at night. Ricky was the much beloved, cherished son of Nikki & Richard and the very best friend and brother to Jason. Ricky will be eternally missed by his grandmother Jo Anne Lapointe, Aunts Linda and Terri, Uncles Bob and Richard, and cousins Mathieu, Rob, Jonathan, Stephen, Kimmi & Rickie.

Ricky throughout his life had acquired so very many friends - on the field and off. His warm smile and charisma drew you close and secured you in place. Once you were his friend it was for life. He was a force of nature, loyal to the core.

His great love, Roxanne, who taught him to enjoy life and who helped him live it to its fullest. She was a blessing sent from God, his soul mate. Such strong love could not be kept apart. And to his Trois Riviere Family, Yves, Lise & Rachel Rheaume. Words cannot possibly express our combined losses.

Our grief is inescapable. We will miss his razor-sharp humor, his strength, his smirk, his unwavering determination, his positive energy and most of all his beautiful charm. Children are not ours to keep. They are on loan for a short while. We are grateful and most blessed that you came into our lives for a reason and a short season. We will continue to love you every day.

Visitation will take place at Yves Legare funeral home located at 14370 Boul. Pierrefonds (corner St. Jean) on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 from 4 to 10 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas A Becket Parish located at 4320 Ste. Anne St., Pierrefonds, Quebec. Burial will be at Cote-des-Neiges cemetery, Section 0L1200 immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation in support of the Concordia Football team.
