Eppinga, Cerasuolo make soccer honor roll

Forward Matthijs Eppinga and defender David Cerasuolo from the Concordia Stingers men’s soccer team were recognized when the Quebec conference released its honor roll earlier this week.

Eppinga, an exchange student from Netherlands, was a first team all-star. He finished the 12-game season with seven goals and two assists. He played a part in 60 per cent of the goals scored by the Stingers in the 2010 season. The International Business student was fourth overall in Quebec league scoring.

"We knew right from the first training session that Matthijs would have a major influence not just on our team but league wide,” said Concordia head coach Lloyd Barker.

Cerasuolo, the Stinger team captain, was acknowledged for his leadership and maturity. He was given the Outstanding Sportsman Award which is voted on by the conference coaches. The native of Laval, Que. is a third-year Management student.
