OUA men's hockey honours for Neill, Roy and Lalonde

Concordia Stinger Carl Neill was named the Defenceman of the Year in the East Division and a first team all-star when the OUA announced its men's hockey awards this afternoon.

Forward Hugo Roy was a second team all-star and member of the all-rookie team. Defenceman Bradley Lalonde was also named to the division’s all-rookie squad.

Neill, a native of Lachute, Que., continues to star for the Stingers in all facets of the game. He was a dominating defensive presence on the ice and he was the leading scorer on the Stingers with four goals and 29 assists for 33 points in 28 games. He was second in the OUA scoring ranks at his position.

The Stingers’ assistant captain, who is currently playing in Krasnoyarsk, Russia for Team Canada at the 2019 FISU Winter Universiade, is known for his great vision, strong decision-making and keen offensive instincts; all of which have established him as one of the premier defenders across the country.

In 2018, Neill was also a first team all-star and was named to the U SPORTS all-rookie team.

Roy, another young Stinger standout, racked up 19 goals (fifth in OUA) and 26 points on the year. The Cookshire, Que. native has since signed a professional contact with the Nashville Predators farm team.

Lalonde, a defenceman from Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que., earns his first university honour. He scored six goals and added 15 assists for 21 points in 28 games in his rookie campaign.
