The Concordia Stingers men’s hockey team put together a strong weekend, earning back-to-back victories with an overtime win over RMC on Saturday followed by a dominant performance against Nipissing on Sunday.
Saturday night saw the Stingers edge the RMC Paladins 5–4 in overtime. Goals in regulation came from Alex Gaudio, Blake Richardson, Vincent Nardone, and Sean Larochelle, before Jacob Lafontaine sealed the win with the overtime game-winner.
Concordia carried that momentum into Sunday, rolling to a 7–1 victory over the Nipissing Lakers. Mathieu Bizier led the way with a four-goal performance, while Julien Anctil, Vincent Nardone, and Julien Paillé rounded out the scoring. Paillé’s goal marked the first of his U SPORTS career, coming in just his second game as a Stinger.
Bizier was outstanding throughout the weekend, totaling seven points. He recorded two assists on Saturday, then added four goals and an assist on Sunday to cap off a big offensive showing.
With the two wins, the Stingers improve to 10–8 on the season and currently sit seventh in the U SPORTS national rankings.
Concordia returns to home ice this week, hosting Ottawa on Thursday before welcoming Queen’s on Saturday.
