$227,000 raised for Concordia Stingers on Giving Tuesday

Director of Recreation and Athletics D’Arcy Ryan is thrilled to announce more than 550 donations were made for a total of $227,000 to the Concordia Stingers Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign.

After raising $160,000 in 2020, the first year the teams participated in the initiative, Ryan and the Stingers coaches set $200,000 as the goal for this year.

“The generosity towards our programs on Nov. 30 surpassed our expectations,” Ryan said. “We are overwhelmed. And it’s not just the financial support, many alumni and friends reached out with emails and phone calls. To know so many people recall with great fondness their experiences and hearing the stories about friendships, mentorships and successes – it is really remarkable.”

Special thanks go to George Lengvari, Bob Beriault, Richard MacKay, Barry Lorenzetti and the anonymous donors who offered lead gifts and matching gifts, adding some excitement to the day and encouraging others with their generosity.

Contributions will help set up the Concordia Stingers for long-term success and will be instrumental in delivering exceptional experiences to our student-athletes.

Your gift matters and we look forward to sharing updates on purchases and initiatives made possible by your support.
