Women’s hockey racked up two more wins last week. They are first in the RSEQ and second in U SPORTS with a 17-1 record and 32 points.
The Stingers headed to CEPSUM Arena on Friday, Feb. 7 and defeated the Montréal Carabins by a final score of 3-2. Forwards Courtney Rice, Jessymaude Drapeau, and Zoé Thibault scored a goal each, and goaltender Arianne Leblanc made 17 saves for the win.
The Stingers also beat the McGill Martlets 5-2 on Sunday, Feb. 9, with 2 goals by Emilie Lavoie, 2 goals by Megan Bureau-Gagnon, and another goal by Drapeau. Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek made 20 saves.
Verbeek has a goals-against average of 1.23, the best in the RSEQ and third-best in U SPORTS.
Forward Émilie Lussier has the second-most goals in U SPORTS, with 15 goals in 17 games.
Women’s hockey will be back at the Ed Meagher Arena on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. to face the Bishop’s Gaiters.
