Women's hockey 19-1 with one last regular-season game remaining

With two more wins last week, women’s hockey sit in first place in the RSEQ and second place in U SPORTS with a 19-1 record and 38 points.

The Stingers dominated the Bishop’s Gaiters on Friday, Feb. 14, beating them 9-1. Forward Émilie Lussier scored 3 goals for a hat trick. Forwards Megan Bureau-Gagnon, Rosalie Parent, Alexis Bedier, Noémie Gaudreault, Emilie Lavoie, and Camille Richard contributed to the scoresheet. Defender Léonie Philbert tied an RSEQ record by a defender with 4 assists, and goaltender Jordyn Verbeek had 8 saves for the win.

On Sunday, Feb. 16, women’s hockey beat the McGill Martlets 5-2, with goals from forwards Jessymaude Drapeau, Caroline Moquin-Joubert, Lavoie, Bureau-Gagnon, and Philbert. Verbeek made 20 saves for the win.

Women’s hockey will be back at the Ed Meagher Arena for their last regular-season home game and Senior Night next Friday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.
