Kaylah Barrett of the women's basketball team and Evens Laroche of the men’s basketball team have been named the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 14.
Barrett, a second-year guard, was exceptional in Concordia’s 75-66 victory over the McGill Martlets in the Quebec conference season opener at McGill last Thursday. She led all scorers in the game with 25 points. She also hauled in eight rebounds in the game.
A 20-year-old native of Brampton, Ont., Barrett is currently studying Religion at Concordia.
Laroche, a fourth-year forward, was instrumental in helping the Stingers start conference play with a big win. He scored 15 points and added six rebounds to lead Concordia to an 80-68 victory over the McGill Redmen last Thursday.
The 24-year-old student from Montreal is studying in the Human Relations program at Concordia.
