Members of Concordia University’s faculty and staff hockey group gave the Department of Recreation and Athletics a generous gift of $3200 just prior to the holiday break.
Athletic director Katie Sheahan accepted the donation that will go toward the Concordia Stingers’ student-athlete tuition award fund.
“We are very appreciative of this important donation and we are very proud to be supporting faculty and staff hockey,” said Sheahan.
The group gathers on Monday and Thursday mornings at the Ed Meagher Arena on the university’s Loyola campus where the participants enjoy friendly games of hockey. With this announcement, the players celebrated 25 years of skating together and look forward to another 25 years ahead.
