Alyssa Sherrard of the women’s hockey team and Olivier Hinse of the men’s hockey team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 24.
Sherrard, a centre who is in her fourth year of eligibility, scored the winning goal in a shootout to give Concordia a 3-2 victory over the Carleton Ravens in the team’s lone game last week. She also picked up an assist in regulation time.
A 21-year-old native of Bathurst, N.B., Sherrard is currently enrolled in the Human Relations program at Concordia.
Hinse, a second-year centre, scored a hat trick in a 9-2 victory over the Brock Badgers last Friday. The goals gave him a total of 13 on the season, making him the leading goal scorer in the CIS. Hinse also had a solid performance in a 3-0 loss to the York Lions the following day.
The 22-year-old student from Sherbrooke, Que. studies in the Child Studies program at Concordia.
