Barrett, Moussignac - PJ's Pub Athletes of the Week

Kaylah Barrett of the women’s basketball team and Jean-André Moussignac of the men’s basketball team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 5.

Barrett, a guard who is in her fourth year of eligibility, was named MVP of the Concordia-ADIDAS tournament that took place Dec. 28-30. She scored 51 points and collected 15 rebounds in three games. She shot 54 per cent from the floor and 81 per cent from the line. The Stingers won all three games and won the tournament championship.

A 22-year-old native of Brampton, Ont., Barrett is currently enrolled in the Urban Studies program at Concordia. 

Moussignac, a fifth-year guard, was exceptional in two exhibition games over the holiday period. He led all scorers in the game with 24 points in a 71-69 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Dec. 30. The following day he was the top Stinger player in a 71-47 win over St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ont. No stats were kept but he earned the coaches’ praise for his efforts.

The 25-year-old student from Montreal studies in the Spanish program at Concordia.
