Jaymee Shell of the women’s hockey team and Andrew Bryan of the men’s soccer team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 2.
Shell, a fourth-year right wing, was the top performer in two games last week. She scored the winning goal and added an assist in a 3-1 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Sunday. It was a must-win game for the Stingers who are hoping to clinch a playoff spot shortly. Shell also had a strong performance in a tough 5-1 loss to the No. 1-ranked McGill Martlets on Saturday.
A 22-year-old native of Dollard des Ormeaux, Que., Shell is currently enrolled in the Exercise Science program at Concordia.
Bryan, a second-year forward, was exceptional in a 3-1 victory over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or on Sunday in RSEQ indoor soccer action. He scored two goals and was the game MVP. After two weeks of play, he is the leading scorer in the RSEQ with three goals.
The 23-year-old student from Dollard des Ormeaux, Que., studies Philosophy at Concordia.
