Head coach John Lavery is pleased to announce he will hold open tryouts for the Concordia Stingers men's rugby team on Aug. 21 and Aug. 23.
The schedule is as follows:
- Aug. 21 – 1 to 4 p.m. (Concordia Stadium)
- Aug. 21 – 6 to 8 p.m. (Stinger Dome)
- Aug. 23 – 7 to 9 p.m. (Stinger Dome)
The facilities are located at the Concordia athletics complex, 7200 Sherbrooke St. W., on the Loyola Campus.
Players must come equipped with mouth guards, training gear, cleats and water bottles (2-3 litres is recommended).
Athletes unable to attend either of these dates should contact Lavery by email at mens.rugby@concordia.ca.
Please note that these are not recreational or intramural tryouts. The Stingers are elite teams that compete against other universities and only offer spots to experienced and skilled athletes.
All players must be current Concordia students.
The Department of Recreation and Athletics will continue to follow health and safety regulations determined by the provincial government and the university’s Environmental Health & Safety office. Tryouts will only take place if it is deemed safe to proceed.
