Members of the Concordia Stingers were awarded $88,000 in bursaries by the Aléo Foundation at an awards event honouring the top student-athletes who chose to pursue their sports and academics at Quebec universities in 2023-24.
Catherine-Ann Blenkhorn (rugby), Gabriel Bourdages (basketball), Dowenly Duprate (basketball), Yann Joachin Heymug Ewodo (wrestling), Arianne Leblanc (hockey), Émilie Lussier (hockey), Karam Sahly (basketball) and Luckson Junior Vilus (soccer) each earned a $10,000 Québec Government university recruitment bursary. They will receive $2000 a year for a maximum of five years.
Three Stingers - Bradley Louidon (basketball), Junior Mercy (basketball) and Ezechiel Tieide (football) - will receive a $2,000 bursary for student-athletes who have transferred back to Quebec from institutions outside the province.
James Lavallée (athletics/cross-country) will receive $2,000 for academic excellence and leadership.
