3 Stingers on men's rugby all-star team

 

Three members of the Concordia Stingers were named to the Quebec Student Sports Federation men’s rugby all-star team announced recently.

Veteran centre Jody Arsenault makes his first appearance on the honor roll. The native of Kahnawake, Que. scored one try this season.

A couple of rookies were also recognized – No. 8 David Biddle and fly half Xavier Birot.

Biddle, a former national team player from Vancouver, scored two tries this season. Birot, who also handles the Stingers’ kicking duties, scored 21 points in six regular season games. The native of Bordeaux, France collected one try, two penalty goals and five converts.

Concordia finished the season with a 3-3 win-loss record. The third-place Stingers lost 15-12 to the second-place Bishop’s Gaiters in the Quebec conference semifinals.
