Head coach Mickey Donovan is pleased to announce his first 2016 commitment to the Concordia football program. Please welcome kicker Andrew Stevens of Port Stanley, Ont. to the Stingers family.
Stevens is currently playing for the St. Joseph Catholic High School Rams in the London District Senior Boys Football conference.
“His leg is one of the strongest I have ever seen,” Donovan said. “Andrew can one-step a 65-yard field goal and he is very accurate.
“His punting average is around 40 yards. Andrew is aware he has work to do on his punting game, but we have no doubt he will be ready to go when camp starts next August.”
Stevens is also a very talented soccer player and has enjoyed great success with the Rams including a Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association championship in 2014.
The Stingers will have an opening for a kicker in 2016 with five-year standout Keegan Treloar graduating after this season.
More announcements of top talent committing to the Concordia football program will follow shortly.
