Brad Collinson steps down from head of the football program

After eight seasons as head coach of the Concordia Stingers football program, Brad Collinson has made the decision to step down to be more present at home.

“It was a difficult decision, but the right decision for me and my family,” says Collinson, noting his great pride in what he and the team have accomplished over the past eight years.

“This year alone, we graduated 20 players, which is a record in my time here. The team is on the up and up, and I'm excited to follow them this season and for years to come."

During his tenure, Collinson provided steady leadership and played an important role in shaping the program’s culture and direction. The team has continued to grow both on and off the field, garnering respect for the Stingers program.

With the football season now complete, the three remaining full-time coaches will oversee day-to-day operations, with Collinson supporting a smooth transition in the coming weeks. The department will take the necessary time to thoughtfully determine next steps for the program as the new Director of Recreation and Athletics, Claude Morin, begins his mandate on May 1.
