Mamadi Kaba awarded Futur.e.s Leaders scholarship by Aléo Foundation

1st year receiver Mamadi Kaba was awarded the Futur.e.s Leaders $2000 scholarship at the Aléo Foundation spring cocktail on May 6, 2026.

38 student-athletes were given scholarships at the event for a total of $155,000 from 18 partners, including Futur.e.s leaders.

“I aim to become one of the best receivers in the country by finishing among the leaders in receptions and receiving yards,” said Kaba, studying Recreation and Leisure at Concordia. “What sets me apart is my ability to turn adversity into strength and to remain grateful for every opportunity that comes my way.”

In his rookie season with Concordia Football, Kaba caught 20 passes for 259 yards.

Founded in 1985, the foundation has awarded more than $25 million in scholarships to over 5,000 student-athletes across Quebec. In addition to these scholarships, the foundation provides lifelong support services to all recipients during and after their athletic and academic careers. To further support these guidance services, the Aléo Research Chair now serves as a source of scientific research and findings available to the entire local sports community.

The Generations of Impact fundraising campaign aims to raise six million dollars over three years in support of the foundation’s broader vision: that high-performance student-athletes enrich society through their present and future leadership, both through their exceptional contributions and through the inspiring examples they embody.
