Paul Eddy Saint-Vilien has been appointed as interim head coach of Concordia’s football program. His mandate will run until November, and a search for a permanent head coach will be conducted in the fall under the direction of the new Director of Recreation and Athletics.
Paul Eddy brings extensive coaching experience, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of the student-athlete experience. Over the past three seasons, he has served as the team’s defensive coordinator, where he earned recognition for his ability to identify and recruit high-potential talent, develop players, and build a cohesive team culture grounded in discipline and respect.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment not only to athletic excellence but also to mentorship and personal development. His approach emphasizes both performance and the overall growth of student-athletes, aligning closely with Concordia’s values and vision for the football program.
Off the field, Paul Eddy is deeply engaged in his community. As a co-founder of an initiative supporting youth from visible minority backgrounds and those in vulnerable situations, he is dedicated to creating opportunities, promoting inclusion, and inspiring the next generation.
“I want our players to be proud not only of our competitive spirit, but also of our solidarity,” says Saint-Vilien. “This identity will be our strength this season.”
In his new role, Paul Eddy will oversee the program’s day-to-day operations, support student-athlete success, and continue to strengthen the team’s competitive foundation.
“It is an honour to lead this program,” he added. “Our priority will be to build a strong culture of accountability and create an environment that fosters excellence for our student-athletes, both academically and athletically. Our motto is simple: earn everything, take nothing for granted, and be ready to seize opportunities.”
