Two key members of the Concordia Stingers defence have once again been recognized among the RSEQ’s best. Mendel Joseph and Emilio Vidali have both earned RSEQ All-Star honours for the second consecutive year, cementing their status as anchors of the Stingers’ defensive unit.
Joseph, who was named the 2024 RSEQ Defensive Player of the Year and U SPORTS first team All-Canadian, continued to impress this season despite missing a game due to injury. The veteran defensive back finished the regular season with 2 interceptions, 20.5 total tackles, and 3 pass breakups, showcasing his playmaking ability and leadership on the field.
On the defensive line, Vidali was a constant presence in opposing backfields. He recorded 3 sacks and 9 total tackles, consistently applying pressure and setting the tone for Concordia’s front seven.
With their defensive standouts leading the way, the Stingers now turn their attention to the RSEQ semifinals, where they’ll face the Montréal Carabins on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 12 p.m. The game will be broadcast on TVA.
