Concordia defensive back Mendel Joseph has been named a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian for the second year in a row, adding another major national honour to his impressive career with the Stingers.
Joseph, a 5’8”, 160-pound Montreal native, just wrapped up his third season with Concordia. A reliable and dynamic presence in the secondary, he posted strong numbers again this year, finishing with 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, 20.5 tackles and 3 tackles for loss.
Joseph joined the Stingers in 2023 as a highly regarded recruit from Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and made an immediate impact. In 2024, he earned his first U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian selection after recording 4 interceptions — one returned for a touchdown — along with 26.5 tackles and 6 pass breakups.
He is also a two-time RSEQ All-Star, consistently ranking among the conference’s most effective defensive backs.
With back-to-back national honours, Joseph continues to establish himself as one of the premier defensive players in the country and a cornerstone of the Stingers’ defence.
