Two NCAA transfers commit to the Stingers ahead of the 2026 season

Two Quebec natives are returning home this year, as Kelowna Ngoyi and Kenzy Paul join Concordia's women's basketball and football programs, respectively.

Ngoyi, a 5-foot-10 guard from Montreal, joins the Stingers after spending two seasons at Southern Illinois University, where she appeared in 52 games and earned a degree in Computer Science. Prior to her NCAA career, Ngoyi played at Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, averaging 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in her final season.

She will pursue a master's degree in Information Systems Security at Concordia.

Paul, a 6-foot linebacker from La Prairie, Que., arrives at Concordia after four years at Duke University in North Carolina. During his time with the Blue Devils, he appeared in two games and graduated with a degree in Sociology.

Before Duke, Paul played at Collège Charles-Lemoyne and spent two seasons at McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn. There, he recorded 51 tackles, five interceptions, two sacks, one forced fumble and 20 passes defended. On offense, he added 845 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns, helping McCallie compile a 29-6 record and capture back-to-back state championships during his junior and senior seasons.

Paul will pursue a certificate in Sociology at Concordia.

The Stingers football team opens the 2026 season on Sept. 5 at Laval before hosting Montréal in its home opener on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.

The women's basketball team will also begin its season on the road, travelling to Bishop's on Nov. 7 before hosting McGill in its home opener on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
