Concordia University assistant head coach and defensive co-ordinator Patrick Donovan is thrilled to announce lineman Lloyd Constant has committed to the Stingers football program.
The highly accomplished six-foot-five, 320-pound athlete is looking forward to joining the team in January. It will be his second time suiting up at the university level. He was a member of the Montréal Carabins in 2013 before playing junior football with the Sabrecats Rive Nord in 2014 and 2015.
“I have heard really good things about the program and I want the opportunity to play with a team that is developing,” said the former RSEQ Cégep Offensive Lineman of the Year. “I love the coaches and the players at Concordia.”
Constant was an all-star offensive lineman at the high school level with Curé-Antonie-Labelle and again as a tackle at Vanier College.
In 2012, his last year of Cégep football, he also was the conference’s outstanding offensive lineman. Capping off an exceptional year, he was selected to play for Team Canada.
The Montreal native has a long history of winning championships. He won a Bol d’or championship as a member of his high school team in 2009. He won the Division I Cégep title in 2010 and 2012. He also won the World Championship with Team Canada in 2012.
When he starts practicing with the Stingers in the winter, he will be working out with the defensive line.
