Rookie slotback Vince Alessandrini was presented the Warrior Trophy as the MVP of the Concordia Stingers football team at its annual banquet held at Molson Breweries on Saturday evening.
A native of Laval, Que. who joined the Stingers in 2016, Alessandrini was named the RSEQ Offensive Rookie of the Year last November. He led the Quebec league with 52 receptions in eight games. He also rolled up 554 yards of offence and scored one touchdown.
The freshman out of Vanier College ranked fifth in the CIS national statistics for receptions. Alessandrini carved out a place in the Concordia football record book.
