Concordia's Coralie Dumont named Rookie of the Year

Rookie Coralie Dumont led the list of Concordia Stingers honorees when the RSEQ named its all-stars and award winners Wednesday afternoon.

She was named the conference Rookie of the Year and took top spot on the all-rookie team.The forward from Boucherville, Que. had a significant impact on the Stingers and the league in her first season.

In 16 games she averaged 31.3 minutes of playing time. She was the leading rebounder on her team with an average of 6.9 a game. That also ranked her sixth in the conference. With an average of 11.1 points a game, she ranked third in scoring for Concordia.

Guards Caroline Task and Jazlin Barker were named to the RSEQ second all-star team.

Task played in all 16 of Concordia’s conference games rolling up an average of 15.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals. She was the leading scorer on the Stingers and second in the league. The Dorval, Que. native was the RSEQ’s Rookie of the Year in 2017.

Barker wraps up her final year of university basketball with her first Quebec conference honour. In 15 games, she averaged 11.3 points, five rebounds and 3.8 assists. The Toronto native was the second leading scorer on the Stingers.
