The Concordia Stingers women’s basketball team earned a split in their home-and-home series against McGill last week, picking up an 80–74 win on Thursday before falling 62–51 on Saturday at the Concordia Gym.
On Thursday night, the Stingers put together a strong offensive performance to defeat the Martlets. Victoria Lawrence led the way with an outstanding all-around game, finishing with 26 points, six assists and five steals. Serena Tchida was dominant inside, scoring 23 points while adding eight rebounds and two steals. Rookie Deymi Morisseau also impressed, contributing 17 points.
The teams met again on Saturday afternoon in Montreal, where McGill responded with a 62–51 victory. Tchida paced Concordia with a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds, while Lawrence chipped in 13 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.
Following the weekend, the Stingers hold a 3–8 record and sit fourth in the RSEQ standings.
Concordia returns to action with a home-and-home series against Laval, beginning Thursday, January 22 in Quebec City, before returning home Saturday, January 24 at 2 p.m. at the Concordia Gym.
