Meet the first Stingers Athletes of the Week for 2019

Coralie Dumont of the women's basketball team and Anthony Dumont-Bouchard of the men's hockey team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 13.

Dumont, a second-year forward, stood out in her team’s two victories over the Bishop’s Gaiters last week. She scored 18 points and hauled in 12 rebounds in a 66-53 victory at home last Thursday. She had her second consecutive double-double two days later when the Stingers defeated the Gaiters 75-57. Dumont had 18 points and 10 rebounds in the game played in Lennoxville, Que.

A 21-year-old native of Boucherville, Que., Dumont is a Marketing student at Concordia.

Dumont-Bouchard, a first-year goaltender, joined the Stingers men’s hockey team in January and helped deliver two important victories in his first two games. Last Friday he back stopped the Stingers to a 5-4 overtime victory over the McGill Redmen. He turned away 33 of 37 shots. The following night he helped Concordia take down the No. 4-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees with a 3-2 shootout victory. He stopped 36 of 38 shots and blanked all three Ottawa shooters in the shootout.

The 21-year-old student from Lévis, Que., is working towards a degree in Computer Science at Concordia.
