Concordia Stinger head coach Brad Collinson is pleased to announce his staff for the 2019 football season.
The Stinger staff will feature a wealth of diverse football experience and bring new blood to the Quebec university circuit. Newcomers in the mix include:
Seydou Junior Haidara will coach the receivers. He played wide receiver with the Laval Rouge et Or, winning Vanier Cups in 2010 and 2012. He was selected 12th overall by the B.C. Lions in the 2013 CFL draft. He played six seasons of professional football wrapping up his career in 2018 with the Montreal Alouettes.
Corvey Irvin will coach the Stingers’ defensive line. A tackle, he played his college football at Georgia and was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft. He spent parts of six seasons in the NFL before heading North and playing another three years in the CFL, including with the Alouettes in 2014-15.
Karl Monjoie will take on coaching responsibilities for the offensive line. The former standout offensive guard/centre from Cégep Vieux Montréal and the Laval Rouge et Or joins the Stingers after four years as the offensive line coach at Cégep Garneau.
Joël Boily will work as a defensive assistant and with the defensive backs. His previous experience includes coaching with two top juvenile high school programs, Armand-Corbeil and Séminaire Saint-Joseph.
Alex Surprenant and Ed Philion were previously announced as the offensive and defensive co-ordinators, respectively.
Guillaume Bourassa returns for his second season with the Stingers. This year he will serve as special teams co-ordinator and the running backs coach.
Cullen Tennant returns to the Stingers to continue his work with the quarterbacks, while Charles Migner moves from defensive line coach to linebackers coach in his second year with Concordia.
