The Concordia Stingers women's basketball team has been awarded the wildcard berth at the U SPORTS Final 8 national championship hosted by Ryerson University in Toronto March 7-10.
Concordia will go into the championship as the seventh-seeded team and meet the OUA champion McMaster Marauders in the quarterfinals at noon on March 7.
“I’m extremely happy and excited for my team,” said head coach Tenicha Gittens. “I think my players are very deserving and have earned the right to compete on a national stage.”
This is the first time since 1999 that the Stingers have reached the Final 8 tournament.
