Coralie Dumont of the women's basketball team and Olivier Simon of the men's basketball team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 21, 2021.
Dumont, a senior forward, was outstanding in two games last week. She scored 12 points and added five rebounds in the Stingers’ 71-60 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters last Thursday. Two days later she had 23 points and nine rebounds in a tough 70-67 loss to the Laval Rouge et Or. She is currently the leading scorer in the RSEQ conference with 20.7 points a game.
A 24-year-old resident of Boucherville Que., Dumont is enrolled in Concordia’s Marketing and Management programs.
Simon, a senior forward, made his presence known in two games last week. With 26 points and eight rebounds he helped take down Bishop’s 72-46 in Concordia’s home-opener last Thursday. A couple of days later he had 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-71 loss to Laval.
The 25-year-old student from Terrebonne, Que. is working on a graduate diploma in Business Administration.
