Former football player dies tragically

Members of the Concordia Stingers football family are reeling from the news that they have lost one of their own – Sean Fox Fraser, 27, died tragically in a car accident on June 13.

Newspaper reports say he lost control of his car on route 117, near his home of St. Faustin Lac Carré, Que., which is approximately two hours north of Montreal.

Fraser, a defensive end, arrived at Concordia in 2000 and represented the Stingers for four seasons. He graduated in 2004 with a BA, major in Leisure Sciences. Previously, he had suited up for the Vanier College Cheetahs and was an all-star high school player at Laurentian Regional High School.

Fraser was in regular contact with many current and former Stingers. Most recently he joined the members of the 1998 championship team at a reunion in May. An accomplished musician, he brought his guitar and provided the evening’s entertainment.

A memorial Facebook group has been set up in his honor – In Loving Memory of Sean Fox Fraser – http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16351641590.

Funeral arrangements have not been finalized. Details will be posted on the Facebook memorial site shortly.
