Greenwood, Arsenault-Hum make football honor roll

Linebacker Cory Greenwood and safety Nicholas Arsenault-Hum were the only Concordia Stingers named to the Quebec university football all-star team announced this week.

Greenwood, a third-year linebacker from Kingston, Ont., has been a big part of his team’s success on and off the field. With 39 solo tackles and 19 assists he is the leading tackler on the Stingers and one of the top in the league. He anchors a strong front seven and serves as a team captain.

This is Greenwood’s second consecutive all-star honor.

“Cory is the type of athlete that only comes around once in awhile,” says Concordia head coach Gerry McGrath. “He has tremendous speed and size for his position. He is very athletic and very fast. He’s also a physical player.”

Arsenault-Hum, a second-year safety from Ste-Catherine, Que., makes his first appearance on the all-star team. He had 14 solo tackles and six assists this season. He also hauled in two interceptions and had three pass breakups.

“Nick has done a great job for us,” says Stinger defensive co-ordinator Warren Craney. “He’s really stepped in and filled a void for us. He’s very coachable, very intelligent and a very physical player.”
