The Concordia Stingers football team will play nine regular season games in 2010, including home-and-away series with cross-town rivals the McGill Redmen and the perennial powerhouse Laval Rouge et Or.
The weekend of Sept. 4, the Stingers will open the season on the road versus the Bishop’s Gaiters in Lennoxville, Que. They return to Concordia stadium to host the Montréal Carabins in the home-opener on Saturday, Sept. 11.
Over the next three seasons, QUFL teams will partake in one of two scheduling options: Play a schedule featuring eight games within the Quebec conference and one interlock game against a team from the Atlantic University Sport (AUS), or a nine-game schedule against Quebec-based schools.
Concordia’s 2010 schedule is comprised of nine qames with Quebec opponents.
Each season, four of the six QUFL teams will play their ninth game against AUS opponents, while the two remaining schools will play all of their games within the conference. Over the three-year cycle, each QUFL team will face each other five times.
The Quebec University Football League revealed the matchups for 2010 last week. A complete schedule with exact dates, times and television coverage will be announced in the coming weeks.
