Concordia Stinger quarterback Terrance Morsink left his mark on the conference and university record books with an exceptional performance in a 39-36 double overtime loss to the Sherbrooke Vert & Or last Saturday.
He completed 40 of 60 passes for 516 yards and threw three touchdowns in the game.
The 40 completions breaks the previous Quebec University Football League record of 39 set by McGill University’s Matt Connell in 2008. It also surpasses the Concordia record of 34 set by Rob Mackay in 2009.
With 60, Morsink also becomes the all-time leader for most attempted passes in Quebec. The previous record of 59 was set by Connell in 2007. Scott Syvret had set the Concordia record of 49 attempts in a game versus Saint Mary’s in 2004.
Finally 516 yards is a new Concordia record for most yards passing in a game. It breaks the record of 494 yards set by Mackay in 2009. At the conference level, Morsink had the third best performance of all time. Connell holds the record with 557 yards passing which he set in 2007.
This week, Morsink and the Stingers will face the Montréal Carabins at CEPSUM on Friday night. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
