The Concordia University football program is pleased to announce offensive lineman Roman Grozman has signed a letter of intent and will report to the Stingers’ training camp this August.
A Richmond Hill, Ont. resident, Grozman is considered one of the top offensive linemen coming out of Ontario this year. He checks in at six-foot-four, 310-pounds and can play guard or tackle. He will work extensively with Concordia offensive line coach Bryan Chiu.
“He’s going to be a big part of our future,” said Chiu who is also the Stingers’ assistant offensive co-ordinator. “He’s powerful, aggressive and he finishes every block.”
In 2011, Grozman played at Milford Academy in New Berlin, N.Y. It is a private prep school that is well-known for developing elite football players, including Shonn Greene of the New York Jets and Marcel Shipp of the Arizona Cardinals.
Grozman’s impressive football résumé includes playing for the World Team at the under-20 championship in Austin, Texas, in February of 2011. He was one of just eight high school players on the roster.
Grozman was a Greater Toronto Area (GTA) all-star while attending St. Thomas of Villanova College in 2010. He was named Villanova’s Male Athlete of the Year. He has also suited up for Richmond Hill High School, the OVFL’s Newmarket Storm and Team Ontario East at the under-17 championship.
