Cagers secure home playoff game, tickets on sale now

Tickets are now on sale for the Quebec conference women’s basketball semifinal game featuring the second-place Concordia Stingers and the third-place Bishop’s Gaiters on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at Concordia gym.

The Stingers lost 44-42 to the UQAM Citadins Friday night, but a Laval Rouge et Or loss - 62-42 at the hands of the Gaiters – secured second place in the RSEQ standings and a home playoff game for Concordia.

It’s the first home playoff game for the Stingers in 10 years. In the previous one, Concordia hosted the McGill Martlets in semifinal game on Feb. 27, 2002. It was a 60-45 victory for the Stingers.

The season series with Bishop’s is 2-2. Concordia won big on Feb. 10 with a 71-40 score, but the other three games have been decided by four points or less. The Stingers won both home games and lost their two matchups in Lennoxville, Que.

Watch for Concordia second-year guard Kaylah Barrett to play a key role in the game. She has been the top performer in the series, averaging 14.3 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.

Tickets can be purchased by phone with Visa or Mastercard. The number is 514-848-2424, ext. 3898.

In person, tickets can be bought:
