Concordia Stinger kicker Warren Kean was named the Quebec University Football League special teams player of the week.
The third-year native of Dundas, Ont. was instrumental in helping the Stingers win their first game of the season – a 33-25 victory over the McGill Redmen.
Kean connected on all three of his field goal attempts, including an 11-yard kick which gave Concordia a 26-25 lead with just six minutes left to play. His other field goals were from 27 and 32 yards. He was also three for three on converts.
The management student was a 2004 conference all-star. Laval's Pierre-Luc Yao was the outstanding offensive player, while Sherbrooke's Pierre Luc Labbé was the defensive player of the week.
