Football Stingers visit Shriners Hospital

Members of the Concordia Stingers football team spent the morning at the Montreal Shriners Hospital for Children visiting patients and learning about the exceptional work done at the facility.

The hospital provides world-class care to children with a host of orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal disorders in a family-focused environment.

The visit is part of the lead-up to the 27th annual Shrine Bowl game which takes place at Concordia Stadium on Saturday.

To date, the event has raised approximately $850,000 for the hospital. The Shriners hope to reach the $1 million mark soon.

This year’s edition features the Stingers and their cross-town rivals the McGill Redmen. This season the teams have already met once in a heated battle that saw McGill come out on top 32-19 on Sept. 6. The Stingers are looking to even the score this Saturday.

Everyone is encouraged to show their Concordia colors, come out to cheer on the Stingers and support a great cause.

Kickoff is 1 p.m. on Saturday.
